BCCI Naman Awards 2026 Celebrate Indian Cricket’s Finest Stars and Legends

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) once again celebrated the prestigious award that is known as the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 ceremony. The annual awards function, held in New Delhi, recognised the best performances in international, domestic, and junior level cricket in competition, while multiple legendary figures were also present during the award ceremony. These legendary figures are a part of Indian history and have contributed a lot to the game. 

Lifetime achievement awards for cricket Legends 

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu lifetime achievement award. This award is considered the highest honour given to cricket legends by the BCCI. This year's individuals honoured by the authorities under this award include Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj. 

Rahul Dravid is a veteran Indian cricketer. Throughout his entire career, he played a total of 509 International matches with 24000 runs. Rahul Dravid was also known for his calm leadership and remarkable batting techniques. After retiring from international cricket, he continued to contribute to the Indian team by acting as a coach in India's under-19 and senior teams. Under his coaching, India achieved many important success including the 2024 T20 World Cup win.

Rodger Binny was also recognised as a massive figure in the contribution to cricket in India. He was a member of the historic 1983 cricket world cup winning team, and he also finished as the highest wicket-taker in that tournament. His performance is very important for India to win its first-ever T20 World Cup victory, which changed the future of cricket in the country. After retiring from his playing career, Roger Binny served Indian cricket in multiple rolls including as a coach, selector, and later as the President of BCCI.

Meanwhile, Mithali Raj was honoured for her marvelous contribution to women's cricket. She represented India in a total of 333 International matches and became the first woman cricketer in the world to score more than 10,000 International runs. Under her leadership, India reached the ICC Women's World Cup final, which definitely changed the scope of women's cricket in India.

Shubhman Gill awarded the best International men's cricketer 

Among all the current generation of players, Shubman Gill was awarded the best International men's cricketer in India. The word is one of the most prestigious awards for current cricketers. The batsman was presented with the Polly Umrigar award for the best international cricketer for 202-25.  

He also played a crucial knock in India's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy campaign. His dependable performance in the top order allowed India to build a structured partnership and put up a huge total against the opposition. The consistency and leadership qualities made him one of the most versatile and dependable cricketers in Team India.

Smriti Mandhana dominating women's cricket 

In women's cricket, the top honour was awarded to Smriti Mandhana, who dominated the women's cricket circuit in India. This market, the fifth time, Smriti Mandhana received the prestigious award, further strengthening their position as one of the best female batters in the world. She enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2025 by scoring a total of 1703 runs in one-day internationals, the most by any women cricketer in a calendar year.
