On a YouTube video on his channel, Akash Chopra praises the batting of Ajinkya Rahane in IPL 2025, especially in the power play. however the question arises after the conclusion of the power play overs: what impact can Ajinkya Rahane make for the team? Aakash Chopra said, “Opportunities are plenty. may be Ajinkya Rahane because I am one of those guys who have been slightly critical that he will have to be played in powerplay as his role becomes extremely limited after that, but you can prove me wrong.”
“It is an opportunity. Not that you need to prove me wrong. Why would you even bother? However, if you can score a lot of runs in the power play and after that as well, it is a great opportunity for you,” Akash Chopra further said.
Aakash Chopra also pointed out the fact that Kolkata Knight Riders needed a touch of Gautam Gambhir every time they won the trophy. The first two times KKR won the IPL were when Gautam Gambhir was the captain, and the third time when KKR won the trophy, it was when Gautam Gambhir was the mentor. He says that it is the right time for Ajinkya Rahane to break this and prove himself as a reliable captain.
